2008 Service Projects

  • Six Hours, Seven Scouts and 4 Leaders worked on a Habitat for Humanities House in Boiling Spring Lakes in June 2008.  The Troop completed vinyle siding on the backside of the Habitat Home.
  • Troop 705 collected 72 canned goods which were donated to "Last Call Ministries" here in Brunswick County as part of their Scouting 4 Food program.


2007 Service Projects

  • Scout Sunday was celebrated at FBC BSL along with the Girl Scouts from several troops.  The boys served as Ushers and Doormen prior to the service and helped with the offering.  The boys were recognized and said their Scout Law and Pledge.
  • The Troop Worked in the Kitchen at Camp McNeil helping to prepare food for Cub Scout Resident Camp for three weekends during the month of April.

  • Troop 705 helped 4th of July Organizers hand out drinks at the end of the Parade Route to parade participants.
  • Boy Scout Troop 705 participated in helping serve meals at FBC BSL
  • The Troop did daily flag duty as part of their Good Turn America Service for 2007 and continue to do so.


2006 Service Projects

  • In January 2006 the Boy Scouts of Troop 705 presented a Pinewood Derby Track to Newly formed Pack 747. 
  • For the boys February Service Project they designed and constructed a Pinewood Derby Box to store the new racetrack. 
  • In March, the Troop attended the District Scout Show and provided craft projects for the Cub Scouts and painted an Indian Canoe.
  • Troop 705 served as a Service Troop for Cub Scout Resident Camp at Camp McNeil.
  • Scouts worked at the Boiling Spring Lakes Waterfront as part of Clean Sweep America.
  • During the Troops's June RBA Campout the Boys cleaned the campsite as a part of Leave No Trace Camping.
  • July took the Troop to First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes.  The Troop worked to help on many projects for their upcoming Dedication Service.
  • In August, several scouts worked on the yard of a disabled individual. They cleaned their driveway and yard after the recent storm.
  • In September, Scouts worked to clean the van of a local church as a community service project.
  • The month of October was Scouting for Food, our Troop adopted First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes, Food Pantry. They decided to ask their congregation, and surrounding neighborhoods to donate canned goods for the pantry.  Over a period of two weeks over 550 canned goods were collected, counted, and stored in the pantry. Many families were helped out over the holiday season by the church we were told.
  • In November, Scouts were asked to provide support to the annual Festival of Trees event.
